Please read this, but also please read it thinking as a parent:
May the Good Lord be with you down every road you roam.
And may sunshine and happiness surround you when you're far from home.
And may you grow to be proud, dignified, and true.
And do unto others as you would have done to you.
Be courageous and be brave,
And in my heart you'll always stay
Forever young
May good fortune be with you, may your guiding light be strong.
Build a stairway to heaven with a prince or vagabond.
And may you never love in vain,
And in my heart you will remain
Forever young
And when you finally fly away, I'll be hoping that I served you well.
For all the wisdom of a lifetime, no one can ever tell.
But whatever road you choose, I'm right behind you, win or lose.
If you are not a child of the 80's, you probably could read these lyrics without a melody beginning in your head. I can't - it's a Rod Stewart song released in 1988.
And I just love it.

Love that song! Although I think you could also include Bob Dylan's song of the same title. Link to lyrics: http://www.bobdylan.com/#/songs/forever-young
I love that song, too...I have it on my blog playlist...of course I also have the theme to SuperChicken. You know, THOSE lyrics also apply to being a parent. "When you find yourself in danger, when you're threatened by a stranger, when you think that you will take a lickin'..."
Oh my gosh, you have GOT to send me the theme to SuperChicken. I had no idea. I'll have to add it to my cell's answer tones (which are driving Harmony insane by their unpredictability). Thanks!
it's beautifulll.......
